1. Introduction
Welcome to AI Math Craft ("AI Math Craft," "we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, applications, Chrome extension, and services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, installing the Chrome extension, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who we are
AI Math Craft empowers teachers to generate high-quality math teaching materials using AI, with a focus on high-school calculus, flexible export formats, and seamless integration with Google Docs. The Service is operated by Jakub Olszowski (jakenyc@gmail.com).
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and have the authority to accept these Terms.
4. Description of the Service
AI Math Craft allows users to:
- Create custom math teaching materials (quizzes, exams, explainers, etc.) using AI-driven tools.
- Export those materials directly to Google Docs through Google's API integration.
- Preview and render LaTeX equations in Google Docs using the Chrome extension, which provides a live preview side panel and one-click conversion to .docx with rendered OMML equations.
5. Chrome Extension
The AI Math Craft Chrome extension provides additional functionality for users working directly in Google Docs:
- Live Preview: A side panel that renders LaTeX equations alongside your Google Doc in real time.
- Equation Rendering: Converts LaTeX equations in your Google Doc into a .docx file with rendered, editable OMML equations.
- Document Deletion: When rendering equations, the extension can optionally delete the original Google Doc after conversion. This option is enabled by default and can be disabled before each conversion via the "Delete original after conversion" checkbox.
By installing and using the Chrome extension, you acknowledge that:
- The extension requires Google Drive access to read, export, upload, and optionally delete Google Docs as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Document content is sent to our conversion service (
md-to-docx.aigarage.io) when you use the Render Equations feature. - The Live Preview feature processes document content entirely within your browser and does not send content to external servers.
- You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of rendered equations before distributing materials to students.
6. Your Account and Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it updated.
- You must not share your account or access credentials with others or use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purpose.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that may harm us or others.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual-property rights in AI Math Craft, including text, design, code, graphics, and content generated by the Service (other than user-created inputs and exported documents), belong to AI Math Craft or its licensors.
You retain ownership of the materials and documents you create and export through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and render your content solely to provide the functionality of the Service.
8. Use of Google Services
Our integration with Google Docs uses Google's API Services and complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy and the Google APIs Terms of Service.
When you use the "Export to Google Docs" feature in the web app:
- You authorize AI Math Craft to create a new document in your Google Docs account.
- We do not access, store, or modify any of your existing Google Drive files.
- You may revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings.
When you use the Chrome extension:
- You authorize AI Math Craft to read and export the currently open Google Doc, upload converted files, and optionally delete the original document.
- The extension only accesses the document currently open in your active browser tab.
- You may revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions or by uninstalling the extension.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Service.
- Use the Service to generate or share unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service or its infrastructure.
- Attempt to circumvent any security measures or access controls.
- Use the Chrome extension to access or manipulate Google Drive files beyond the intended functionality.
We reserve the right to monitor usage and enforce compliance.
10. Fees and Payments
The Service may include free and paid plans. If applicable:
- Pricing and billing details will be clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.
- Payments are processed through secure third-party providers.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, about its reliability, accuracy, or suitability for your specific purpose. AI-generated content and rendered equations should be reviewed for accuracy before classroom use or distribution.
We are not responsible for loss of data, interruption of service, or any damages resulting from your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation, any data loss resulting from the use of the document deletion feature in the Chrome extension.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- AI Math Craft and its affiliates, directors, and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to use the Service in the last 12 months, or (b) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may uninstall the Chrome extension at any time, which will remove all local data and revoke its permissions. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if required by law.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Any sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability) will continue to apply.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively via arbitration.
